The best time for a fishing trip to Greenland is from mid-July to early September. During this period, sea-run Arctic char migrate up the rivers, offering intense and high-quality fishing in Isua, Eqaluit, and Ilivertallip Kuua.

July often offers large numbers of fish that have just entered the rivers, with aggressive strikes and strong fights.

August is considered by many to be the absolute best month, with stable weather and concentrated fishing in both flowing sections and calmer pools.

Fishing in Greenland primarily takes place in rivers and lakes, with a focus on sea-run Arctic char. Both fly fishing and spinning are used, but fly fishing is the most common method in the rivers around Camp Isua.

For fly fishing, nymphs, streamers, and dry flies are used depending on water levels, temperature, and where the fish are located. In flowing sections, heavier nymphs or streamers are often used, while dry flies and lighter presentations work well in calmer pools and lake outlets. Spinning is done with spinners and spoons, always with a single, barbless hook according to local regulations.
