Fish species and season in Costa Rica

Marlin

Marlin is the top predator in Drake Bay with three species: blue, black, and striped. Blue marlin weighing around 90 to 140 kilos are most common, and fishing is catch and release.

Sailfish

Sailfish are known for their jumps, speed, and intense fights. During the right periods, you can have many hook-ups per day with fish up to 60 to 70 kilos.
